Swift Parrot Long-Term Monitoring Report Released
We are pleased to announce that a report on the long term monitoring of the critically endangered swift parrot has been released by Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The report details the result of breeding season distribution and occupancy surveys and outlines the population trend. The long-term dataset has been collected from 2009 to 2022 and shows the decline of swift parrot numbers over this time period.
Our mission is to safeguard Tasmania's biodiversity by translating scientific knowledge into tangible on-ground actions. We are dedicated to delivering practical and sustainable solutions, rooted in a commitment to evidence-based practices. Through cooperation and consultation, we forge lasting partnerships with land managers, NGOs, government, corporations and communities, working to address biodiversity loss, land, and sea degradation. Why the Landscape Recovery Foundation?
Long term experience working in Natural Resource Management, fauna and flora environmental impact assessment, environmental offsets and threatened species conservation led us to identify key gaps in achieving positive whole landscape and species outcomes. We recognise a need to change the way in which biodiversity, and ecosystems more broadly, are managed.
We aim to deliver clear, strategic, and actionable plans and work with the community to deliver them. The Foundation brings together agricultural and ecological knowledge and community engagement expertise to achieve meaningful on-ground outcomes.
