Landscape Recovery Foundation donations now tax deductible

We’re proud to announce a major milestone for the Landscape Recovery Foundation (LRF) - we now hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

This means all donations of $2 or more to LRF are now tax-deductible—making it easier for people to support Tasmania’s most critical landscape recovery and biodiversity projects.

This endorsement validates our commitment to environmental stewardship and also empowers our donors to make a tangible difference. With DGR status, we can expand our reach and impact by attracting more substantial philanthropic support, enabling us to scale our efforts to restore Tasmania's landscapes, support biodiversity, and foster resilient communities.

Over the years, LRF has been at the forefront of numerous impactful projects aimed at restoring and preserving Tasmania's unique ecosystems. It has already played a leading role in projects that deliver long-term environmental and community benefits.

We’ve worked to protect the critically endangered swift parrot, funding ongoing population and nesting monitoring, and we’re now tackling threats from gliders and habitat loss through our “Swift Parrots: Beating the Odds” project.

We coordinate the Tasmanian Orchid Conservation and Research Program with our partners, which aims to improve the outlook for species like the graveside leek orchid through extension surveys, habitat protection, and recovery actions identified in national plans.

Our Eucalypt Conservation work, including seed banking and research into climate-ready restoration, is safeguarding the future of species like Eucalyptus morrisbyi.

The Melanie Jane Kelly Memorial Fund is another example of the work our donors make possible. Through this initiative, we provide bursaries to women leading innovative projects in conservation science—from aerial kelp forest surveys to habitat mapping—ensuring the next generation of environmental leaders are supported to take action.

Dr Josie Kelman, CEO of LRF, says:
“Achieving DGR status is a pivotal moment. It affirms our mission and gives donors the confidence that their support is both meaningful and provides a tax benefit. With the help of our donors we can do more for Tasmania’s landscapes and the people who care for them.”

We invite all who care about nature to take advantage of this opportunity. Your tax-deductible donation will go directly to projects that restore habitats, support women in conservation and benefit Tasmania.
